 President's Letter - January  2010

Dear Charlotte IMA Members:

I hope everyone was able to survive the crazy winter weather this past month! I can’t believe we are already halfway through the year and already looking towards our next year for the IMA. But first, I wanted to talk about Student Night. Last year we began Roundtable discussions for Student Night and had great success! Over all, we had over 60 attendees of students, CMA’s, CPA’s, Accountants, Controllers and CFO’s. This year we have been working hard over the last 5 months to bring you another fantastic Student Night. Please see the information below in the newsletter and make sure to RSVP early. We will be offering 1 hour of CPE Credit and special pricing- $25 for members and non-members and $12 for students and members in transition. Parking will also be included!  

In addition, the board has nominated me to continue on as President 2010-2010. Karen Sholar will be our Secretary next year.  I have had such an amazing year as President this past year. The board has been diligent in planning and executing events and for the most part we will have continued participation next year from our current board. Thus, next year should be a breeze! I am excited to continue as President for our chapter next year and hope to bring more inspiring CPE sessions, creative ideas and growth overall of our chapter.

Currently Karen is our Co-Chair of Membership. Karen has been influential in helping plan Student Night, assist with membership growth and recruiting for new board members for next year. As a CMA at Flakeboard Americas, we are excited to have Karen on the board again as the Secretary. Thank you so much for your dedication! 

We look forward to seeing you at Student Night on February 16th. Get your reservation in early as we are expecting a very large turnout.
