President's Message

May 2009

Charlotte IMA Members:

I can’t believe the year has gone by so quickly. I was going through my files and found my August 2008 President’s Message where I was introducing our 2008-2009 Board and 2008 Fall Conference Executive Committee. I would like to introduce these outstanding members again to you but this time to say thanks in anticipation of celebrating our outstanding results this year at our Tuesday May 19th Year End Celebration and Awards banquet. This board worked very hard you – the membership!

The Charlotte IMA is a 100% volunteer organization and functions only because of the efforts of those who get involved.  I’d like to take a moment to formally thank our 2008-2009 Board.

Each Officer has a team of chair people that they manage and various committee members to accomplish our special projects and events like chapter dinners, professional development, website maintenance, IMA newsletter, sponsorship, and CMA training and certification. I would also like to recognize our 2008 IMA Fall Conference Executive Committee for an outstanding effort in putting together a VERY SUCCESSFUL October Carolinas Council Conference.

We plan to have Charlotte Banner Celebration in the fall as we anticipate the results the final points calculations in the Chapter Competition. As of April 2009, we were tied for 8th in the nation. In closing, the contacts you'll make and the networking opportunities available to you from your involvement in Charlotte IMA will serve you for a lifetime. I will never forget this year and the honor of serving as your Chapter President. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and the Charlotte IMA.
